We are always looking for volunteers to help the school - from working the Book Fair, helping at the entry way, to hanging artwork and even to cooking a dish for Conference Dinners - we need your help! There are SO MANY WAYS that you can make a difference for your school, and your community.

Here is also a partial list of Eldorado K-8's ongoing needs:

5th Grade Stepping Stones:     Attention 4th grade parents - please sign up to help plan the 5th grade Stepping Stones Ceremony. An Eldorado tradition!

 

8th Grade Graduation:            Attention 7th grade parents - honor our tradition by helping plan the 8th Grade Graduation.

 

Ambassador Program:            Work to welcome in new families to our school that come throughout the year! Make their entry to Eldorado K-8 smooth and successful by providing them the answers to questions that they may have and also let them know that "we are there for you".

 

Back to School Night:              Help ensure that the Soaring Eagles Alliance (SEA) has a presence at this widely attended event which is set up by the Eldorado K-8 administration to welcome everyone back to the school year.

 

Band / Concerts:                      Help the music department with the various bands that there are. We will contact you when there is a need and if you can assist the generosity would be greatly appreciated!

 

Book Fair:                               Help sell books for the Library's major fundraiser.

 

Box Tops:                                Help collect, count and submit box tops for reimbursement.

 

Capital Campaign:                  Assist committee with promotion of the Annual Capital Campaign - our major fundraiser of the year.

 

Coffee Service:                        For the Teachers and Staff Every month, we have worked with local coffee shops to supply out wonderful staff with a morning "pick me up" and offer a tea and coffee cart. If you are a great morning person, we would love to have you come help out with this quick event where we literally roll a cart around and offer a fresh morning beverage!

 

Community Dinner:                 Are you a party planner - than this is your thing! Help plan and execute the Annual Community Dinner at Eldorado K-8.

 

Conference Dinners:               Please help us make dinners for teachers on conference days.

 

Crossing Guard:                      Please help keep our kids safe by volunteering one day a month to be a Crossing Guard.

 

Don't Drive to School:              Help us plan a fun event to promote walking, riding scooters or skateboards or biking to school.

 

Event Assistance:                    General availability to assist with school events as needed. You will be contacted and asked about your interest and availability and can choose to see if what is needed works for you!

 

Extracurricular Activities Driver for ELL Students:

                                                Make a difference by offering the opportunity of participation in extracurricular activities for all middle school students. We are seeking parent volunteers willing to provide before and after school transportation to our English Language Learners who live in the Louisville area. Greeter Table:                         Become the shining face of Eldorado K-8. Assist the front office by staffing the greeter table and ensure that every person who comes through the front doors checks in properly prior to going into the hallways. A simple and fun task!

 

 Health Room:                         Assist in the Health room.

Ice Cream Social:                    Help with the coordination of this school wide event which hap[pens right towards the beginning of school - a "welcome to the school year" of sorts where we have a simple set up of ice cream for all students and their families to enjoy!

 

Kindergarten Boo Hoo:           Help coordinate, plan and set up for the 1st day of Kindergarten and make there be something for the parents who will be sending their loved ones off into their education journey. Traditionally, light snacks and drinks have been served to distract them and let the children get into the classroom without their parents at their sides.

 

Kindergarten Playdates and Picnic:

Help reach out to the new incoming Kindergarten families and work with them to coordinate a couple of playdates over the summer prior to the start of school and a teacher and family casual picnic to have them meet, greet and see their classrooms.

 

Kindergarten Preview:            Assist with the coordination of our annual "preview" for incoming Kindergarten families. Help collate materials, give tours and assist with related needs. Happens mid school year.

 

Lunchroom:                             Help monitor the lunchroom.

 

Mascot - Be Rocky!:                Be Rocky yourself! The only requirement is that you are happy (and taller than 5'4" is best too... but spirit, funk and enthusiasm are the most important!) (also see: Rocky "Wrangler")

 

Middle School Welcome:         Help welcome in the incoming middle school students and their families.

 

Movie Night:                            Help to coordinate our movie nights which we hope to have multiple times per school year. Get individuals to serve "concessions" and also help to get out the promotion for the chosen movie.

 

Parent Engagement Network:

Help engage Eldorado K-8's parents and empower them Assist with PEN which is a BVSD collaboration: http://www.parentengagementnetwork.org The Parent Engagement Network (PEN) is a Boulder Valley district-wide collaboration to engage parents in fostering healthy choices among all youth and increase awareness of available resources for parents and families.

 

Picture Day - K to 5:                Assist with the 3 photo days for K-5 which is individual portrait day after the start of school, class and activity photo day and spring photo day.

 

Picture Day - Middle Level:    Help out on the 3 photo days (middle school during registration, class and activity photo days and spring photos).

 

Plays / Musicals:                     Interested in helping our music department with the various musicals? If so, let us know - we will contact you where there is a need and you can decide if the musical at that time works with your schedule! Thank you so much!

 

Read-A-Thon:                          Assist committee with implementing a fun Read-A-Thon program held jointly with Superior Elementary to encourage reading.

 

Recess:                                    Help monitor the playground during recess.

 

Registration Day K to 5:          Assist the administration with the collection of paperwork and the direction of individuals on the K - 5 registration dates which are on the Literacy Assessment dates.

 

Registration Day 6 to 8:           School Assist the administration with the collection of paperwork and the direction of individuals on the Middle School registration day.

 

 

 

Rocky "Wrangler":                 Assist with helping our mascot Rocky attend events - or even be Rocky yourself? Do you have spirit funk and personality? Do you like to dress up and act silly because no one knows who it is underneath that costume? Thank this is for you! (also see: Mascot - Be Rocky)

 

Safe Routes to School:             Help work with the Federal SRTS program through BVSD. Promote safety regardless of the transportation method one chooses to school.

 

School Photographer:              Help our Yearbook committee and ensure that we are getting pictures from as many events as possible (we would prefer all!) Do you like taking pictures? Do you know people who take many at our school events? Then this is the perfect 'shot' for you!

 

Scrapbooker:                           Eldorado K-8 has had a school scrapbook since it opened - help to maintain this cherished item and update it annually.

 

SEA General Help:                 Help SEA with many aspects such as flyer distribution, planning assistance, event promotion and similar needs. Your help is ALWAYS appreciated and makes an incredible difference to your school and the school community.

 

Spirit Club:                              Help form the new Eldorado K-8 Spirit Club to increase school spirit.

 

Spirit Nights:                           Help the Spirit Night coordinators promote the Eldorado K-8 Spirit Nights to raise funds for our school.

 

Taste of Eldorado Family Picnic – HELPERS:

Help with our great Annual Picnic - the Taste of Eldorado.

 

Taste of Eldorado Family Picnic – PLANNERS:

Help the administration with this great annual event which is designed to showcase the unique diversity at Eldorado K-8. Come up with new contest ideas to demonstrate our cultural awareness and also with menu and catering options. This is the biggest event of the year as it occurs during school and invites all of the families to "come have lunch together".

 

Vision/Hearing Screening:      Help test kids vision and hearing with assistance from Boulder Valley School District technicians.

 

Walk to School Day:                Help us pass out goodies and treats to walkers/bikers on Walk to School Day in October.

 

Yearbook:                                Be a part of the Eldorado K-8 yearbook team! We need savvy and creative parents to assist in the design and layout of the annual yearbook and to also assist with the running of a before school club that will serve to introduce the 5th - 8th grade students into the realm of photojournalism. Also help with the promotion of yearbook sales.
